Rhevision’s management team and board of directors collectively represent several decades of experience in building successful technology companies. We combine a deep knowledge of optical systems and the skills and insight to build industry leading companies. We will continue to build our team in a careful and deliberate manner, adding strong leaders who will help ensure our success. Following are current Management and Board Members: Management and Board of Directors Gary Shields, Chairman, President and CEO Before Avtech, Shields was Co-Founder and Managing Director for one of Southern California’s leading boutique investment banks, Flemming, Lessard & Shields. At FLS he worked closely with many early stage technology companies to set strategies, develop business models, execute on business plans, raise capital and optimize exit strategies. Prior to FLS, he was Senior Vice President, Corporate / Business Development at IMS, a leading communications software company targeting the health care industry. Before IMS, he held senior investment banking positions focused on the semiconductor, storage, communications and environmental services industries at Robertson Stephens, LF Rothschild, The Chicago Corp. and Technological Investors. He attended University of Cincinnati where he received his BA with Honors, and Georgetown University where he was a Fellow in the MSFS program. He also earned the designation of CFA and has sat on more than a dozen boards of directors. Yu-Hwa Lo, Founder and Chief Technology Officer Dr. Lo is also Professor of Electrical Engineering at University of California San Diego’s Jacobs School of Engineering where he focuses on core research areas including optoelectronic devices and BioMEMs (biological microelectricalmechanical systems). He is well known as a leading pioneer in the development of “bioinspired photonic systems” and founded that UCSD lab which was the source of his invention of the technology now held by Rhevision. He continues to lead the study of how to marry the best of natural and manufactured optical systems which are self contained and durable. Lo is also researching optical and quantum communications, sometimes known as quantum cryptography. Prior to joining UCSD, Dr. Lo was Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Cornell University. He attended National Taiwan University where he received his BS in Electrical Engineering, and UC Berkeley where he received his MS and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Robert Vasko, Vice President Product Development Bob attended Rochester Institute of Technology where he received his B.S.E.E. David Flowers, Board Member For two decades, Mr. Flowers served as the Chairman and CEO of Pulse Engineering Inc., a $100 million NASDAQ traded Electronics Company with more than 5000 employees on three continents. Heconsistently managed profitability in a cyclical, commodity industry and established Pulse as the recognized technology leader. His accomplishments include managing a successful LBO in 1986 and IPO in 1991. The sale of Pulse in 1995 resulted in a 3000 percent gain for the LBO investors. Flowers also has a strong commitment to the community. He was a key, early participant in Project Concern International's programs, dedicated to improving children's survival rates through basic health care clinics. This work, on behalf of Pulse, earned the 1990 End Hunger Award from President George Bush. A strong interest in corporate governance and international expertise led to Mr. Flowers co-founding the International Forum for Corporate Directors. I.F.C.D. (now known as the Corporate Directors Forum) which is dedicated to enhancing Directors' knowledge and effectiveness. The Corporate Director's Forum named him Director of the Year in 2000. He currently serves on several corporate boards and is an advisor to others. Other professional affiliations include the American Electronics Association, U.C.S.D. Connect, the World Trade Association and the Chairmans Round Table, (CRT) for which he was also a co-founder. Glenn Sherman, Ph.D, Board Member Sherman is currently CEO of Moving Image Technologies, a company that manufactures and sells cinema projection systems to some of the largest entertainment companies in the world. Prior to MIT, he served as President and CEO of Christie, an international cinema projection equipment company. Prior to Christie, and for two decades, he was Founder, Chairman and CEO of Laser Power Corporation, a leader in the optical components industry. Under his leadership, Laser Power Corporation acquired five companies and built strategic relationships with companies around the globe. The company also carried out extensive work to develop and build laser based projection systems for the digital cinema industry He attended the University of Illinois where he received his BSEE, MSEE and PhD in Electrical Engineering. He has also sat on numerous boards of directors of both private and public companies. |
